I think i may have just gotten the best deal in my AV hobby career. Craigslist, "gently used". Hopefully it works. Any thoughts or comment are welcome.:D:D

Seems like a very good deal. If you want to end up with an exceptional player see if you can get ahold of the Nuforce mod board for the OPPO BDP 93... either the NE version (which is very good) or the NXE version (which is exceptional for multichannel playback). You can plug these boards in yourself... no soldering.
Read the 6 MOONS review of both the NXE version and the NE version. See also the TAS review of the NXE.

I think Nuforce is still selling the NE board but perhaps not the NXE

Even if it does have issues Oppo's been pretty good at fixing things for a very good price.

I think this beats anything I've bought on the cheap. A $399 H/K CDR20 for $99 (with warranty) at Circuit City in 2003. Last year I won an ebay auction for 4 Infinity OWS-1's for .99 cents. It was a local p/u so I gave the guy $20 (about the shipping cost) so I wouldn't feel like so much of a thief!

But $85 for an Oppo 93 is pretty good. His Pioneer BDP-51FD is also a pretty good bluray player, if a bit slow to load.

It works however sans the remote. So I offered 70 and he took it! Im real greatful for rhe deal got. I think the second best deal I ever got was my marantz sr 7001 for 500.00 from a4less.com. this was back in 07. I'll be back with a full update in a few days.

I'm still kinda in shock. Very grateful for the deal I got. Now im trying to figure out how to program my marantz remote to operate it. I called Oppo and they dont have the codes, which i thought was kinda weird.

My UR50 remote works with my Oppo 980H, but it does not pause it though. I second JG recomm to get the remote from Oppo: product details pages of OPPO Digital
Funny, pause doesn't work for me when I programmed it into a different device menu, but it does work on one I created for the Oppo only. Might try programming pause and then another button after it that you don't care about (like "0") because there's a known issue with the R50 that forgets the last button programmed for some reason. I haven't tried that to fix mine either, because it works on the Oppo specific one.

Thanks I'll look into it, at least when I press stop and then play it resumes back to the same scene.
