Oppo BDP-83 Bass Management Broken

So I have owned my BDP-83 for a little over 2 weeks now. Overall, the reviews are correct, this is an amazing universal player. I have used it on DVD, CD, BD, SACD, DVD-A, and mkv files via the USB stick.

Everything works flawless...well almost:

I just want to let people know that the 83 will not pass the 0.1 signal to the mains if you have it set up as a 5.0 system. Here is the quote from Oppo:
LFE redirection is not a part of the software suite of the BDP-83. This is something we are requesting from the engineers, but have not enabled in our product at this time. Unfortuantely we do not have an estimated time of release for a firmware which will allow for LFE redirecting.
I am stunned. This seems such a basic feature of BM, I cannot believe it is broken. Since music is most important to me sonically this is not a huge loss (Many of my SACD, DVD-A are 2.0 or 5.0).

I am not trying to take away from this player, it is truly amazing. I have no doubt Oppo will fix this issue some time in the future. But, just an FYI if you intend to have the Oppo to bass management.

This is a problem with most multi channel equipment. If you recombine the LFE bass into the main channels, it can overload those channels. The newer Dolby spec mandates this I believe. Even when bass from LFE is recombined into the mains, its done at a reduced level. I first experienced this going from a Yamaha DSPA-3090 to a DSP-A1. The latter followed the newer Dolby spec.

Honestly if you're running multi channel, get a sub!
