Oppo 93 and .iso files

Hey everybody,

I guess this is for everyone that has the 93, is there a way to get it to read .ISO files?

I currently stream my DVDs using Tversity to it but they are all the .VOB files. Which isn't that big of a deal but I would like to have it as one file versus VTS_01_1, VTS_01_2, etc. Plus it's hard to know which file is the actual start of the movie.

Thnx

No Oppo player supports ISO files. If asked Oppo reps will further will tell you that they will never add ISO support due to copyright concerns.

Which is of course a completely moronic thing for them to say when most media players already support ISO. They really need to add ISO functionality to their next firmware update if they hope to ever be able to compete with dedicated media players. I sure as heck won't replace my $100 WDTV Live with a $500 Oppo until they do. I'm just not big on downgrading functionality.

The lack of ISO support is the position of the chipset manufacturer, not Oppo. They are the ones who do not wish to be viewed as condoning piracy of video discs. Before you say it, I know most of us would be ripping our own collection to a video library, but I'm just passing along what the chipset manufacturer's concern is. It's their issue, not Oppo's. If someone is looking for a superior Blu-ray player, buy an Oppo, but if one wants a device for ISO files, look elsewhere.

So what would be the best option to get it to one file, similar to ISO? Should I convert it to MPEG, AVI, etc. or just leave them as is hit play and forget about it?

Thanks

Perhaps DivX? It takes 2-3 hours but DivX will convert a BD rip to a single mkv file. Too much hassle for me. For now I'll just keep using my Western Digital TV Live as my media player and my PS3 as my Blu-Ray/DVD player and skip buying the Oppo-93. Maybe later but it's very-very back burner for now. The WDTV Live media player plays ISO files and my PS3 plays Blu-Ray and DVD just fine. The convenience of having a single file always on-tap solution for legally purchased concert videos and favorite demo videos outweighs the convenience of a single BD/DVD/media player solution.

If Oppo had any sense they'd lean on their chip supplier or move on to somebody else. You don't boost sales and gain market share by leaving out features.
