Hi all,

What do you think about the receiver Rotel RSX-1067? I was thinking of Yamaha and Denon, but the Rotel seemed they did a nice work on this piece. I just wanna ask for your opinions before buying it. I'm planning to get the B&W 704 as well.

Thanks.

I think you'll find the sound very amazing with the Rotel. Solid build quality, but not all the fancy bells and whistles from the other receiver manufacturers. I decided to get the Rotel sound by purchasing anamp and am looking at Anthem or Denon as a preamp/processor for the large amount of options in set-up.

The Rotel 1067 is an awesome receiver. They definitely make a quality product. I have B&W600 series speakers and I debated between the Rotel 1056 and the Marantz 7500. I went w/ the Marantz b/c of the multizone that i really wanted. NAD, Marantz and Rotel are all great receivers to match w/ B&W's. I personally agree w/ you about the Denon and Yamaha -- they are fine receivers, but in the end I think the Rotel will have a warmer sound and will match your speakers better. I never auditioned, but I have been told the Pioneer Elites match well w/ B&W's too. If you are looking for other options, I would give the Maranzt 8500 and NAD T773 a listen too.

Thanks for your opinions, I think I'll go for this Rotel. It did sound amazing to me at the local store with the B&W. Again, it's true that Yamaha and Denon may have done better with functionality/ease-of-use, but I really like the design of Rotel - simple and elegant.

Rotel makes a great product, particulalry for the price. I spoke with their rep at the RMAF this past October, and he said they keep their prices down by mass producing (in China, IIRC)-but do their development in house in England alongside B&W.

Bryan...you'll like the 704s with this...

The Rotel is okay but is cumersome to use and extremely busy on the front panel with too many buttons.
A better alternative is the new Marantz SR-8500.
It sells for less money, equals the Rotel in audiophile performance but blows it away in connectivity.
The Marantz has component inputs as well as DVI in and out.
The Rotel doesn't make any provision for digital video.

Rotel 1067 is good as it is the latest line of their products, which use High-End CS43122 DACs and 32-bit DSP CS494003. Previous Rotel receivers use only 24-bit DSP CS433263 and quite moderate AK4324 DACs - 1065 as well.
