If it is in good working condition, and if you have speakers that you need something to drive them, then it would be "something you need". Whether 50 W is enough for you would depends on the kind of speakers you have, how far you sit from them, and how loud do you need etc.

lovinthehd Audioholic Jedi Aug 13, 2019 #5 Not many still use tuners but the better term for your unit is receiver. It's a modest unit with a generally good brand reputation. You do need speakers, tho (or let us know what other audio gear you have...)
