Found a deal on B&W's

1 pair of 604's
2 pairs of 601's, S1
and a CC6, S1

all are used, $900 for the all. Good deal, or let it go?

The towers will replace some klipsch F3's.

It's a good deal only if you can audition them and think they sound great.

Otherwise, it is a total waste of money.

Unless you like the sound of B&W, don't buy them without an audition.

Even their $25,000 flagship 800 Diamond speakers have a pathetic polar response (off-axis frequency reponse). Even the on-axis frequency response is pathetic for any speaker costing more than $2,000.

But putting all the measurements aside, they may sound 100% awesome to you or other people AFTER you audition them.

And this pertains to all speakers, not just B&W.

Wilson Audio speaker have terrible frequency responses too, but some people think they sound awesome.

So if you can audition those speakers and find that they sound awesome, then buy them.

At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is that you enjoy the sound of your speakers.

P.S. You may think I hate B&W, but I love the way the 800 Diamond looks. And I may end up buying them just for that in the future.:D

I've heard B&W's before, not the 604's though, and IMO thought they sounded much better than my Klipsch F3's. I figured at the price I am getting these speakers at, a total of 7, I could unload them for what I paid for them if I didn't like them. I figured atleast I could do a side by side comparison.

You must listen the them to decide if you like them, hopefully in your own room.
But as far as getting good deal, check audiogon.com for prices.

I did check, but could find any models to compare them too.

I think that the jury has spoken. Your ears must be the final judge _ not us only.

Which B&W speakers have you listened to?

I think if they are close enough in model#, they may have the same driver type and technology and probably sound the same.
