Opinion on a Denon 1930ci vs. Pioneer DV46a

Greetings,

I need to replace my current dvd player because I just got a plasma TV (Pioneer PRO940HD) and my current dvd player does not have progressive scan or HDMI output. I want to wait until the wars between HD and bluray are over... so in the mean time, I want something that does upscaling and has HDMI output.

I am considering either a Pioneer DV46a or Denon 1930CI - any comments on which one I should go for?

Thanks,
Dean

Also check out the players from Oppo Digital in your price range. They have excellent uscalling PQ that rivals some of the high end denon models and the new 981HD model will output 1080P over HDMI.

There is a class action suit against Pioneer for issues with many of their players...so I would have to say definitely not a good choice. I have never been a fan of their players anyway.

One of the oppos would be an excellent choice. The Denons are great players also, but for the price, the Oppo is a better choice IMO.
