Hi, I am going to upgrade my receiver. I currently have an old Technics receiver from 1995. It has 4 channels. Front Left, Front Right, Center, and Rear (rear being 1 channel). Anyways, I want a 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 receiver. I am able to buy a used Onkyo TX-DS787 from a family member. It is in great condition, and nothing is wrong with it. We have not settled on a price but I think it will be around $200-$250. My question is, is this my best option in my budget price range? I can't go over $300 due to my WAF (actually $300 would be pushing it). Is there something better for me in this price range? I do not need HDMI as my 57" Rear projection HDTV only has component ins and outs. I will use it mainly for movies and a little bit of music. It is a small living room that this will be in. I currently have a pair of Cerwin Vega RE-25's, a JBL N1 CC speaker, and rear Paradigm Titans. Here are some specs of the Onkyo. Let me know your thoughts and thanks in advance!
