Online or not?

If it is correct, as Yamaha reps state over the telephone, that "Yamaha will not honor any warranty claim for a receiver unless it is purchased from an authorized Yamaha online dealer", why does Audioholics list other online dealers from whom a Yamaha receiver can be purchased?

Some people would rather pay less at an unathorized dealer and take the chance on possible future problems while some would rather pay more at an authorized dealer and have the peace of mind of a warranty. Simple as that. Each have the merits. It's up to the individual to make the choice.
