I have a Onkyo TX-DS484 Home Theater Receiver. The power start up module on this receiver has gone bad and to replace it is going to cost about $175.00. Is it worth it? Also, where would a person get this module to replace it himself?

Thanks,

No I would say it is not worth it. That model is from the same series as the TX-SV525 I used to have and so is likely ProLogic only.

For $200 you can easily find a TX-SR502. If you shop around you might even find the current 503 for around the same price.

Welcome to the site!

You can buy this, take the module out, and replace yours. (Poor audioholic humor)

Honestly, MDS is right. Time to retire it, or sell it for parts and get a replacement.
