Hello, im new to this forum , hoping im posting in the right section.
Anyways im having some issues with my amp. Sometimes when im trying to switch an imput selection from net/usb to either cbl/sat or game/tv it will show no signal on the display and will not work till I go back to net/usb mode and put it on stdby for a few minutes and turn it back on.

Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

Cheers Huff

Hi huff and welcome to the forum.

I'm wondering if this is your display and not the receiver that is the problem. Do you get sound when you switch from the Net/USB to Cable/Sat and just not video? I get a similar issue with my 885 which uses the same REON video processor. If I switch from Sat to Blu-Ray or vice versa my display will hang and will not sync the video unless I switch inputs on the display or power cycle it.

What display do you use? Also are you using the REON to scale to a certain resolution or are you using pass through?

Hi Highlander , I was referring to the digital display on the amp. I will get no video or sound unless I put it back to net/usb mode and then it will show the servers on the amps display but not on the onscreen display which is my 52" samsung lcd. It will also play music from windows media player 11 off the servers. (I hope my terminolgy is correct).
I think the upscaler is on auto.
Ive had my system now for a year and im still learning how to use it.
This problem never occured before I started using the server with the media player and switching the input selections more often.

Thanx Huff

I'd suggest finding out if a firmware update is available for the Onkyo.

When you go into network mode you change the controls on the remote. You have to put the remote back into receiver mode before you can control any other functions.

I just phoned product support and he said there is no firmware update for this av reciever.
He says to test the hdmi cable from the receiver to the tv. And when it happens again to try the tv directly from the sources.

Yes thats right,I switch it to reciever mode than select an imput such as cbl/sat or game/tv it seems to switch but says no signal underneath whatever imput is shown on the recievers display.

Thanx Huff
