After having no luck trying to find a replacement volume control for my nad 7175 receiver i am now thinking about a new 2 channel replacement, i want a receiver that does NOT remove the bass frequincies and rely on a seperate powered subwoofer, i have checked out the specs at crutchfield and it says the onkyo has a line level subwoofer output, does that mean that it has bass only coming out of the subwoofer out, after going around and around with some fairly high dollar surround equipment i swore i will never go that route again, i just want a simple 2 channel super powerful [like my nad 7175 was ] receiver that i can use to power my 2 killer 3 way speakers and not have to have a seperate powered subwoofer, the older i get the more i want things to be simple, everytime i ever turned my nad on i was impressed and pleased, in a word it was a impressive unit.I want a as impressive unit to replace it. any help about this comparision will be appreciated.

Hi. The subwoofer output allows you the option of sending bass frequencies to an external powered sub, but it doesn't require it. You can download the owner's manual from Onkyo to look at the specifics [STRIKE], but that receiver will allow you to set up the bass management the way that you want - either having the full range sent to your main speakers, to have full range sent to your main speakers and bass sent to the sub, or to use a crossover and send bass to the sub and the rest to the main speakers[/STRIKE].

EDIT: OOPS! I think that I was wrong about that. I'm still looking for details in the manual, but I don't see any bass management. I'll update in a few minutes.

EDIT 2: Yeah, after combing the manual and searching the web, I'm pretty confident that receiver doesn't do any bass management. However, I do still think that the subwoofer pre-out is an option and not a requirement. I'll keep looking.

EDIT 3: Alright, I've used up my web mojo. I can't find the answer. Sorry about that.
