Take note, this is a refurb model purchased directly from SHOPONKYO.COM

Here is the link: http://www.shoponkyo.com

This is how it works.

1. Join Club Onkyo (free registration, don't ever have to pay for this)
2. If you purchase any refurb product by 12/24 you get 10% off with a Club Onkyo membership.
3. You also get $10 off any order with your new Club Onkyo membership.
4. Also you get free ground shipping AND no tax!!!

Onkyo TX-SR805 (refurb): $699 - 10% off - $10 = $620 w/ free shipping

Take note that this unit is complete with a 1 year parts and labor warranty from Onkyo. You can extend the warranty to 3 years for $65 more. So if you want you can get an 805 with a 3 year warranty from Onkyo for $680. That my friends is a heck of a deal!!!!

It's now even better at Amazon: $643 for the silver version, with free shipping. That's almost $100 less than the black one, which is $699 and has $37 for standard shipping.

Cheers,

Kevin

Thanks for making me aware of that. I am going to try and see if they will price match my order with the current price. If not I will just try and cancel my order and reorder the cheaper receiver.

That deal dried up real quick. I had it in my cart, and got cold feet. I checked 15 minutes later and the deal was dead. I guess too many people caught wind of it - no thanks to Slickdeals.net.

I forgot to post this when it happened. Anyway, I phoned up ShopOnkyo a couple of days before Christmas to see if they would give me the 805 that I had already ordered for $520 with the free TX-8222.

I talked to a lady named Irene. At first she said that her manager wouldn't let her refund me $100 and also send me the TX-8222. I just told her that I had placed the order three days before the sale went on and I was a little disappointed that they wouldn't price match. She was very nice and said she would feel the same way. She asked me if I wanted to talk to her manager and I said that I would like to at least talk to him for a little bit. She then put me on hold for a minute or two and came back and said, "I talked him into it. We will credit your Visa $100 and I will put in the order to ship you the TX-8222 for free as well."

I had already received my 805 and it is in perfect condition. This baby is a beast.

All I can say is that Irene just gave me a great Christmas gift!!!!

typing on the ps3 is a pain .#$%&
he paid 520 and got the free item.
edit :
BTW Kyle when are you going to update those Fluance speakers, i sold you.;)
They are almost 3 years old now. :p
I‘m guessing, they are still treating you right. Few people realise that for the cost, they actually perform pretty good.

The Fluance speakers still sound amazing for the price. I am in the process of buying some Def Tech SuperTowers and a Def Tech Center. Then I am going to use the Fluance towers as my left and right surrounds and the Fluance shelf speakers as the rear surrounds to complete a 7.1 system. I would love to have the money to get a complete Def Tech setup, but for now the Fluance speakers really do sound great!

Fry's has the silver 805 in store for $699. That's a little more than some online prices, but there is no hassle if the item has to be returned. One can buy it from CC and show them Fry's ad to get the difference plus 10% of the difference. That would bring the price to $670. I love silver and would have bought it except I can't stand not being able to turn off the display. You can only dim the display on Onkyo receivers, not turn them off. It's time Onkyo engineers realize that some users want to turn off all the lights.
