Sounds like a braid of speaker wire is sticking out and provoking this. (Had this problem myself once. a single strand of copper stuck out and touched the housing) Check your speaker wires thoroughly from end to end, including post connection where your problem is most likely to originate from.. Use compressed CO2 can and flush-out dust and potential conductive contaminants from your receiver's innards.

Good luck.

You might also want to swap your left and right surround speakers to see if the problem is in the amplifier/wiring or the speaker itself.

Good suggestion as the 805 had a Lot of switching issues (fried HDMI boards) front display lights going out from weak resistors etc. They have great amps( I really liked mine) but at a cost as they ran HOT when watching two Blurays back to back at near reference sound levels. I mounted a fan behind mine to help with heat and moved it so it had 4" of open space above it. Do a search here on the TX-SR805 and you will see several years of upset Onkyo owners from 2007 until last year or so. Hope it's not a amp going bad or something else expensive.
