Hi!
I just need to pick a receiver for my speaker setup which is 5 HomeTHeaterDirect Level 3 towers. I narrowed my choices to those 3 already mentioned since the pany 45 (digital amps) seems to be weak with bass. Any suggestion in the under $500 range is appreciated but for the most part my desicion hsa been made to pick on of those 3. Both music and HT is important but I guess HT has the upper hand for my setup.

The only one of those listed, that I'm familiar with, is the Denon 2803.
I know that it is a very fine receiver. A friend has recently bought one, and he loves it. He's a newbie, so I had to go set everything up for him. It was very easy to setup, if you're familiar with HT at all. You will not be disappointed with this receiver.
Good luck with whatever you decide..........

Yes I have been around for a while so I know my HT. I also read good things about the Yamaha 1400.... I just want to step up from my old Kenwood VR 409 to a mid level receiver with "GOOD" sound. I think these choices I narrowed it to are good dont you?

I have the Onkyo TX-SR601 and love it. I looked at the HK 230 but felt the SR601 gave me more bang for the buck, but they were similar. I can't comment on the Denon tho.
