Onkyo TX SR 607 VS Harman Kardon AVR 255

Guys please help... Suggest me the better among the two... HK is about $200 more than the Onkyo.. Is it worth?

There are plenty of reviews on the Onkyo but not much for the HK. The HK is better equipped in terms of inputs and outputs but if you don't need them then the Onkyo is a better deal. In fact the Denon AVR-1910 is the best of the 3 but only the HK AVR-255 has preouts.

go with the Denon. Or even better look at some of the older receivers that are well built and lasting. Go for something you can keep for years. Think of this as a long term investment. For Onkyo I suggest the *05 series.

I fail to see what the 605 brings to the party that the more advanced 607 does not. In fact the 607 brings much more to the party with improved Audyssey options. Your statement might have at one time arguably applied to the 805 vs the 806 but the 60X are a different animal. I have the 606 in my bedroom and it's a great little receiver.

Check out the AVR260, has Dolby Volume which is awesome, also will output 720p from the iPod when used with the optional Bridge III...
