I just recently purchased the Onkyo 605 with the kEF HTS3001 5.1 package. I also ordered 2 of the KeF 3001 satellite speakers to make my system 7.1. My question is on the receiver setup i can manually change the frequency of each speaker from 80hz to 200hz. Should i mess with this or when i have all the speakers (7.1) will the Audyssey equalizer provide me with the best solution?

Generally Audyssey set up makes a few mistakes one of those happens to be with crossover level. You should set those according to your ears. Another area you should check after running Audyssey is speaker size Audyssey almost always sets speakers to large when often, especially if you own a sub, it is better to have htem set to small.

From what I've read on this forum, the Audyssey system tends to set all speakers to "Large" (my Pioneer does the same thing, even though it has a different auto set-up system). This is generally not what you'll want.

First, you'll want to set the satellite speakers to "small." As for the cross-over, people tend to recommend 80 Hz as the right place to start because that's the THX standard setting. You can play around with it and see what sounds good to you, but that's generally a good setting.

EDIT: Once again, avaserfi beat me to it. So fast...so fast. :)
