My new Onkyo receiver does not pass "Receiver on Screen Menu" video signal to the HDTV when using a HDMI connection. [ States that in the operating instructions] The receiver has a RCA composite video "Monitor Out" jack. Can I run a composite video cable from that "Monitor Out" jack to composite video input #3 on the HDTV and get the menus on the HDTV when I select video input #3 on the TV? There is no "Source Selector" for the "Monitor Out" jack on the receiver. Is the video signal output always present at that "Monitor Out" jack, and thus does not require any video source selection on the receiver? If this connection will not work, how can I use HDMI and view the receiver menus on the HDTV?

Yes, you can use a composite video connection from the receiver to the TV as long as it is to a TV input that is different from the HDMI connection.

I have connected a composite video cable from the receiver's "monitor out" jack to my HDTV "Video 3 Input" with the HDMI cable connected from the STB to the HDTV "Video 1 Input". When I select the HDTV "Video 3 Input , I DO NOT see the receiver's set up menus on the HDTV. Back to my original question; Does the receiver "Monitor Out" jack pass a video signal without making any type of selection on the receiver?
Onkyo's online hookup "Help" pages are of no help with this question. I will attempt to obtain some telephone assistance in the morning.

I have determined that the "Monitor Out" jack passes the composite video signal to the HDTV without making any selections on the receiver. I am now viewing the receiver menus on the HDTV.

Additional assistance is not required. Thanks
