I am the owner of an Onkyo TX-NR900 which has been at the authorized service provider for over two months. At this time, they are unable to pinpoint the problem. The service center (that's also the name of the provider) says that Onkyo is not responding to their E-Mails, etc. I contacted Onkyo myself and received a call and an E-Mail. But all signs are pointing to a main board replacement (on backorder until July 1). This will cost about $435. I paid $800 for the unit last May on Ebay, so stupidly I do not have a warranty.
Anyone else had a problem with Onkyo(s)? I'm considering replacing the unit with a Denon or Yamaha, but I'm wary of buying online again, even though the prices are excellent.
Is there any real difference between the Yamaha 1500 and 2500?
Does Sony make anything worth considering?
I'd like to keep the cost under $800
Thanks
Todd
