Onkyo TX-NR626

DENON AVR-E400 h
(also considering Denon AVR-S500BT)

The Onkyo seems to have almost every feature I could imagine (besides individual 7.1 analog audio inputs, and preamp outs). Is there anything the Denons have that the Onkyo does not?

I know Onkyo has had some failure issues with the HDMI board, etc. Supposedly they have been fixed and there are a lot of positive reviews.

Denon for sure.
The X2000 does have more comparable features to the Onkyo. Could you explain why you are sure about the Denon? I went to a Best Buy yesterday and actually thought the buttons felt more solid on the Onkyo (not that I'll be using the buttons on the unit much, but it makes an impression).

I have an onkyo avr, but due to overwhelming majority of qc complaints vs the brand in recent years and their lax stance on supporting better room auto setup technologies are the reasons why I am not recommending onkyo

I own both of those receivers, and I recommend the Onkyo between the two. It has more connections and features, and a much better remote control. Its onscreen menu is less refined, but overall, the Onkyo is a better deal, IMO. Both receivers have the same auto setup.

I posted reviews of both receivers here and on Amazon:

(*) Denon AVR-E400 Receiver Review

Together with months of researching and help from forums like this, this video just sold me on the Onkyo TX-NR626:

...oh, I cannot post links yet. It's a YouTube review by "avlanduk" channel.

erhm... all electrical items will fail. jus depending on whose the unluckly 1. back to AVRs. going for features, x2000 will suit consumers due to features are consumers will think of front end.. look into the Avr, wattage is noting to b seriously consider. WRAT & HCPS is seriously there. if occasionally u wana go for high res Audio from a Class 'D' avr. without a Pure Audio whats the point.
no offend everyone. cheers.

May not be an option but with onkyo, if you get at least the 800 series models you get more features and also preouts for external amplification later on. Just a thought.
