I bought an Onkyo TX-NR626 almost exactly 2 years ago, and suddenly no audio is coming out. The audio will come through very, very rarely - just enough to let me know everything is still set correctly. It's not when I change anything - it just suddenly comes through for a few minutes, but then it goes silent for a long time (not sure how long yet, but enough for me to give up).
I'm an audio engineer with plenty of experience troubleshooting. I've tried different inputs, changing audio settings, etc. I understand how this receiver works and it's not working.
I've taken very good care of it. Only moved it once. Plenty of ventilation. The video still gets to my TV fine.
Very disappointed. I have a cheap Kenwood 5.1 receiver that is still working great after 16 years. I've heard of Onkyo's crapping out (but usually it's HDMI issues), and now I have apparently experienced it first-hand. What are my options? I plan to contact Onkyo, but I'm guessing this is out of warranty.
I was happy with the receiver otherwise. The only other feature I would want is the ability to make any input any combination of HDMI. For example, I'd like to use "HDMI 1" as the video for two different sources (with different audio for each). I'd like to have as much control over routing audio and video to the sources/modes as possible.
I do use a lot of Google cast devices, so something with built-in Google Audio casting would be awesome.
