Recently bought onkyo tx-nr545. I think I have a problem w the receivers right rear out put(#5) I cant get a test tone and I have eliminated it being the speaker or the wire. Is there something else I can try or do I need to send it back? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Do you have this speaker assigned on your amp? If you do then I would guess your receiver is faulty as you say it cant be wire/speaker. I assume you have tried swapping one of working speaker/wire to try this out?

I've tried 4.1, 5.1 & 7.1 configs with no luck. I assume this is what you mean by assigning the speaker

By test tone do you mean AccuEQ? Page 11, if not then I would run it. If you have done it and connected speakers like it is in page 6 then I would try to Resetting unit (Page 21) and run the AccuEQ again and see if it has any effect.

By speaker select I mean speaker settings in receiver, I don't know how it is done in Onkyo as I have never used Onkyo units. For Marantz you can change what speakers you have connected on your receiver and change the output levels from settings.
