Hi all,
Through together a bunch of old equipment 4 Cerwin Vega VS120s, 1 Infinity Interlude IL36 with an Onkyo TX-DS939 and I'm trying to figure out the best way to set-up this receiver not only for surround sound (movies) but also,, and "mainly music". I'm concerned about the 4 ohm (Cerwin Vega VS120s) ratings of the speakers Vs burning up this receiver. I know if I run the 4 of them in series into main left and right, I'll be fine with the 8 ohms, but I'll also lose a bit of volume, as well as all "surround" sound capability. If I just stack all 4 on the left and right I drop the resistence to 2 ohms.. I dont think Onkyo would recomemd that. Channels A and B do not work at the same time.
Then comes movie time and I'll have to re-run the wires. Is there a simpler way to do this?
