Hi all. I hope someone can help me with this problem that’s making me bang my head against the wall.
Got an Onkyo TX-SR702. Its connected to various components such as DVD, Xbox, Gamecube, etc. Will gladly provide model #s and hook up types if it helps.
I have 7 Klipsch speakers and a SVS sub. My problem is:
Every now and then, at seemingly random intervals, I will hear a small crackling sound coming from the speakers. If I am in stereo mode it comes only from L + R, if I’m in surround it comes from all, etc. Dosent seem to be coming out of the sub.
It happens on any source, regardless of volume or whether its been on for an hour or a minute. It does not happen all the time.
The unit just spent a month in the shop where they concluded there is nothing wrong with it as they couldn’t recreate the problem. As soon as I plugged it back in the problem came back, so im sure its something in my environment.
What ive tried so far:
1) Used an orange extension cord to power the unit from another circuit in the house.
2) Unplugged the sub at the receiver side.
Obviously neither of these fixed it.
Can someone provide me with some troubleshooting steps?
