I am in the market for a new receiver and I have narrowed it down to the above receivers. I need an amp to power my home theater in my tv room and I am going to use the 2nd source to power ceiling mounted speakers throughout the house which have volume controls on the walls (I have a wire to connect my computer in my office to the receiver to play MP3's but will play CD's as well). Component inputs are important -- i want to connect my HD box, DVD player and PS2 to the receiver and not have to mess around w/ switching inputs on my tv and would like a receiver that handles this well. In my tv room, primarily will be watching movies, but will also listen to music about 30% of the time. Which receiver will handle this kind of load better and which one do you all recommend?

Either reciever should do you well. I think it is generally thought that Denon is better for music, Onkyo great for movies. What kind of speakers will you be using? that me be a consideration.

My home theater will have the following:

B&W's
DM-604S3 fronts
DM 600-S3 rears
LCR 600 S3 center
ASW650 sub

The house is wired for 3 sets of ceiling mounted speakers and 1 set of outdoor speakers. I havent bought these yet, but I would imagine I will stay w/ B&W's for the ceiling mounted speakers...the CCM65 is about the price range I am looking in. I havent looked around at outdoor speakers, so that is up in the air right now.

There will be times when the HT is being used and the speakers are all playing music at once, so I want to find a reliable receiver that wont have any problems w/ this kind of load.
