Onkyo SR607 setup

Hi all,

I recently put together my first home theater setup. I am using an Onkyo sr607 receiver with klipsch hd500 speakers. I have a question about the listening modes on the receiver. When watching BD movies, I am unable to select Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD options. My BD player and TV are hooked via HDMI cables to the receiver. The only good option it lets me select is Dolby Pro Logic II; is there something I am missing in the setup? Thanks in advanced!

In order to listen to in those formats you need to make sure the BD player is sending the signal via bitrate. The movie itself must also be recorded in that format.
