Onkyo Shut-off Problem

I have two 905s that have been updated to the latest firmware and DSP. One of them had a problem before the upgrading that has continued -- the power cutting off during use and then not going back on while the standby light kept flashing. I followed the instructions to unplug and disconnect speaker wires and it helped for 2 hours of use and then started happening again. Is this problem associated with too much heat, electricity supply problems, a very large connected powered subwoofer (SVS), or a defective unit that need servicing? Has this been a common problem with the Onkyo 905 or 875?

My parents had a similar problem with their Bose system. It would randomly shut off during play. The problem ended up being an overloaded AC circuit. I ran an extension cord from an outlet that was on a different breaker and it solved the problem. You might want to give that a try and see if it helps.
