Onkyo RZ900 Over Yamaha RX-V3800+Yamaha P2200 Upgrade?

Hello.
I currently own a Rx-v3800 that drives a P2200 for the stereo. (yes the old one with vu meters)
Would the onkyo RZ900 be un upgrade over the whole combo?
Of course it' upgrades the video section but my main concern is about stereo music listening.

Soon i'll be buying some 4k oled tv and i need hdmi 2 so i must get rid of my rx-v3800 for that reason.
Also my p2200 will soon need a recap i think. My main goal is not to downgrade in terms of two channel audio quality. And i was asking myself if the RZ900 could do the trick replacing both items.
Maybe i'll have to keep the p2200, recap it and replace the rx-v3800 by some rx-a1060 ?

I'm wondering why you would go with Onkyo over Yamaha? Why the particular models you're asking about? You could still use your amp if you get an avr with pre-outs in any case. I'm not sure what you mean by "two channel quality", can you explain what you mean by that? My avrs are as good as my old 2ch gear...up to a point, depends on the speakers, your listening levels and distances involved.

I'm not wanting to go with onkyo. I had just the feeling that the rz900 was a hit in stereo.
If there is a Yamaha avr with hdmi 2 that i can find used and that can be as good as my p2200 i'd go for it
I have a 3.5meters listening distance. I often listen at a high volume all kind of music.
For hc i was plenty happy with the rx-v3800 even without the p2200 doing the mains.
I have some triangle celius esw as main speakers (french stuff hehe)
My brother as a dsp-z7 that i find quite fine despite it has no hdmi2. Did Yamaha make an avr that is as good as the dsp z7 with hdmi 2?

RZ900 has been one of their better units. It sold out pretty quick, Onkyo change up some of the build. Added some technology and replaced their 'WRAT' With HDR'. If that means anything to you, not to me though. I used Onkyo for sometime, like some of their units I had and didn't like some. Last one I had was NR656 and have to say performed well, still performs well my son has it now. If you do go with the RZ900 go with a site that has a good return policy just in case you don't like it.
