Onkyo Reciever Troubleshoot

I got an old Onkyo TX-SV90Pro (from around 1994 i think) at the beginning of the summer and everything worked fine. I had 4 Sony Speakers (rated at 110w and 8 ohms) hooked into the A and B jacks, and ran my computers audio through the auxiliary input as well as a turntable through the phono input. I moved off to college today and took the entire system with me. I got everything hooked the exact same way at home and tested it using my iPod. Sound came through and I thought everything worked. Then I got an idea to run my Vizio's LCD TV sound the reviver as well, so I ran an 1/8in headphone to RCA from the headphone output on the TV to the auxiliary just like my iPod. No sound came out. I tried different settings on both the TV and receiver and still nothing. I switch the cord out of the TV back into my computer and now sound isn't played over the speakers. It doesn't even seem to be drawing power from the input because I don't get the buzzing nose when nothing is plugged in. So what happened to my receiver? Is there a chance that the receiver or all 4 speakers are fried? If so how can switching to a TV input as opposed to a computer or iPod cause that to happen?

Welcome to the forum!

Can you select another source (in particular, the tuner) and get sound? If so, then it's not a problem with the speakers or the receiver in general.

Is the cable that you used to connect to the TV, and then to the PC, the exact same cable that you used with your iPod - or is it a different cable? If it's a different cable, then it might be the cable. Try using the one that you used with your iPod. If it's the same cable, then it could be that the TV and computer weren't set up to output audio through the jacks that you used - not entirely impossible.

You might have also hit the tape loop button in the process of trying to select another source (assuming that receiver has one). If so, hit it again.

Which TV do you have?

EDIT: From online photos, that unit does have a "Tape 2 - Monitor" button on the front (if I found the right model). If you can't get sound at all, the mute isn't on, and the speaker buttons are on - then push that button to see if you get the sound back. There should be an indicator on the front display to show if the monitor is active or not. Make sure it isn't active.
