Onkyo receiver crapped out: PROTECT

I think my 12 year old Onkyo TXSV525 receiver just died. When I turn it on the digital read out says PROTECT and no sound. Opened it up and the only "fuse' I can see looks fine. Any ideas what may be the problemo?

Make sure none of the speaker wires are touching the wrong connections in the back of the receiver. I made an Onkyo go into protect mode b/c the wires for one surround back were accidentally touching the post for the other SB.
