Onkyo Protetion circuitry activated - help!

I pluged a powered subwoofer in my Onkyo TX-ds575x (It was turned on)
A lot of noise in the loudspeakers and I turned out rht rcv quickly.
Now, I can`t turn on the RCV. The standby indicator flashes because the protection circuitry is activated.
When I turn on the rcv, it works but turn out in few seconds.
All loudspeakers are disconected.

Is the RCv blowout?
Can I reset the circuitry by myself?

In my country, Argentina, we haven`t Onkyo official service.

Please, can you help me?

Forgive my bad english and thanks in advance!

Most likely it is not blown, but not sure how to reset it. Try to unplug the receiver from the wall as well for a while. You may also want to send an email to Onkyo.
Most likely someone else will post.

What connection did you use from the sub to the receiver?
Was the receiver playing something? How high was the volume control?

The subwoofer was hooked to right sub pre.
The Ac cord was disconnected and I connect It whit the sub amp turned on.
The RCV was turned on but no playing and the volume was in the middle.

Just to clear something up, where did you have the Subwoofers AV power cord connected to? The wall outlet or the Receivers switched AV power outlets?

cheers:)

A couple of weeks ago same thing happened to my Onkyo receiver. Called Onkyo and I was told that there is nothing they can do for me and recommended that I buy a new receiver. Stan

There isn`t Omkyo authorized service in my country.
For sure, I if I need to buy a new A/v receiver I will choose another brand.

Same story, another day...

The manual will talk about re-setting the receiver. Probably near trouble shooting. There was a thread 2-3 weeks ago asking the same thing.
If the receiver still does not stay on then it will have to go in for repairs.

Hi Stan,

I just wonder why Onkyo (or any other manufacturer) would give you such a rough answer; I mean, there's nothing you can do, so buy another receiver...

Just wondering though...

Customer service help............ ???

AV...........
It's hard to believe a CSR would actually say that!

Stan.......
Look for a 'local repair tech' to try to find/repair the problem. It may be just a minor problem!

There was another post not long ago about going into protection. He had one or more fuses blown. Replaced them and back in business.

It you are able, disconnect it, pop the hood, and look for fuses, both on the boards and on the back of the panel? If bad, replace with same size and kind.
The above poster had slo-blow fuse.
