onkyo or denon?

alright theres a lot of people here that are very smart with home electronics im not so i feel dum asking questions very egar to learn anywho im looking at receivers onkyo tx-nr808 or denon avr-2311 are the both good? do they have any problems? and also looking to buy a pair klipsch rf82 towers could use everyones info thanks

Onkyo and Denon are kind of like Chevy and Ford. You will get varying opinions. It seems around here at least that Denon gets the edge in dependablitiy, while Onkyo seems to lead in features on the cutting edge. Either one will work fine with those speakers. Many here don't like the Klipsch sound. Audition a lot of speakers and buy the best you can afford. Speakers are what make your rig sound good, not receivers.

I'm not sure this is a fair comparison as the 808 is more comparable to the Denon 3311. I would heed davidtwotrees advice about choosing speakers for the sound you want.
