I just bought the Onkyo HTA-4100 and I'm just wondering if anyone could help me out because I'm having some trouble setting it up.

I've been able to connect the center speaker, the left and right surround speakers, and subwoofer to it, but I havent been able to connect the front speakers.

The reciever auto-detects the speakers, so nothing could be wrong with the settings, and I've tested all the wires already and they're fine.

So does anyone have any idea what else could be going wrong?

Actually I guess what I mean is, the reciever won't detect the front speakers... what I said before might have been confusing... I can connect the speakers to the reciever but when I use the reciever to detect what speakers are connected it says no front speakers are connected.

Is there anything extra you have to do when connecting fornt speakers that you don't have to do with other speakers. Sorry that I sound like a noob to all of this but I am lol.

What do you mean when you say the receiver won't detect the front speakers? Does that model have an automatic setup routine or are you saying you don't hear anything out of the front speakers when playing music or the test tones?

The only thing I can think of is that you connected the front speakers to the B speaker outputs but the receiver is set to output the A speaker outputs.

Yea, it is supposed to be able to automatically detect the speakers and set it up. I just tried plugging it in again and sound is coming through the speakers but for some reason it still can't detect them. Could there be any reason for this? And I tried using a and b for the front speakers. It's connected to A now.

I can't find any info on an Onkyo HTA-4100. It doesn't exist on the onkyousa website and google only finds a KLH speaker system with that model number.

Are you sure of the model number? It must be fairly new because Onkyo didn't introduce auto-setup on their receivers until the tx-sr702 model.

oops sorry... I was wrong on the model number, it's the tx-lr 552, I mixed it up with the klh speakers I have. Anyway, it does detect the speakers and it detected all the speakers I've tried on it except the front speakers. But if sound is still coming out of the speakers is there really anything to worry about?

Sounds like MDS has it right. Look at your connections in the back of the reciever and refer to page eight of the manual. Your front speakers should be connected to the left set of terminals. Leave the right set, the ones right next to the surround connections empty.
