Hello,

I am new at all this home theatre mumbo jumbo. I am seriously looking at getting an Onkyo HT-S770. It fits my budget and has a lot of features. All that I am asking is if anyone knows of any better system or would like to support my decision. I can get this unit for 339.99 at onkyo online refurbed.

I presently own a cheap panasonic unit not sure of the model and it will only read cd's now don't know what the problem is, just like my other panasonic dvd player.

Thank you very much for your support,

The Onkyo HTIB is pretty good for the money. The receiver is similar to the TX-SR501 and the dvd player is similar to the SP-301. The weak link is the speakers, but again for the money they work pretty well.

Refurbished from Onkyo, the 501 and 301 would be about $300, so buying the HTIB setup is like getting the speakers for free.

Onkyo's are about the budget line systems most respected in these posts. You can;t really find better value for the money.
