Hello Everyone,
A couple months ago I purchased the Onkyo HT-S3300 system for my home theater. Right now the system has Blu-Rays running through it via a Sony BDP-S360 Blu-Ray player. I am experiencing a lack of the ability to produce the lossless HD Audio that I so require although both the receiver and Blu-Ray player can decode them. I have read that for some the Blu-Ray player must be set to LPCM and although it doesn't display it on the receiver you are actually hearing the HD Audio sound. Great I suppose that works for some people. I however am one of those people that until I see my receiver display it is running in Dolby True HD or Master Audio I don't believe it. The system tells you this for a reason so I think it should (the receiver for the set-up is the HT-R380).
I have heard before that the only way to achieve this is to have the audio data being sent to the receiver in the bitstream format. My player is set to this and still the receiver does not display that it is playing the HD Audio. I need advice/help/guidance or anything in my pursuit of my goal here.
How do you get the receiver to display/recognize that it is playing Dolby True HD or Master Audio?
Thanks.
