I bought this system almost a year ago around Christmas time.

The problem that I have has always happened since the day i got it, but I never really needed to pay attention to it, and you will see why.

My problem is that when i watch movies that do NOT have Dolby Digital, but they have a Dolby Digital/Stereo, i got a 'kkhhh' sound from mostly my right front speaker and a little on the left front speaker. The noise is usually brief and short, but very occasional. It only happens during certain parts of movies, I don’t know why. I get that problem using the prologic II on those types of movies and stereo settings(there are no other settings to use). I do not get this problem on FULL dolby digital or regular music cds. Only on movies that are dolby digital/stereo.

I've tried new wire, a different speaker, and a few other things like buying a NEW dvd player to see if it was my dvd player, but it still has not gone away.

Do other people have this problem? Is this just the way the sound system is? Does my receiver have a defect? Is there a way i can fix this on my own?

I've never heard of this type of problem. You may want to consider contacting Onkyo and outlining the problem to see if they are familiar with it.
