I have had the Onkyo TX-SR875 AVR for about 2 years now, and I recently purchased the Onkyo DS-A3 iPod docking station so I could use my iPod Nano(4th generation) with my system. I had first purchased the Ds-A3 a few weeks ago, and I kept getting a "Resolution Error" message on the 875's display window. I called the techs at Onkyo, and after an hour on the phone with them, they concluded that the dock I purchased was defective. It was sent back, and I purchased another one(the same exact model) from a different vendor. The new dock was connected by the book(as always) and this time we got a brief flash of the Nano's menu on my plasma, and then it went away very quickly and the "Resolution Error" message reared it's ugly head again on my 875's display window. But this time, the "Resolution Error" message brought a friend with it named "Not supported Mode" that appeared on my plasma screen this time too.
The audio will play fine, but in order to know what's playing, or be able to select something different, you must get up and go to the docking station itself so you can see the tiny screen on the iPod Nano itself, and make your selections and commands from there.(with the included docking station remote) This defeats the whole purpose behind my purchase of this docking station of wanting to be able to view and command my iPod through my Display/plasma while being able to view any music videos I may have on my iPod too as the docking station said it would all be able to do with a 4th generation Nano, and I am now stuck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as usual.
Thanks all! Joe B.
