I recently purchased an Auna Line 300-SW-BH Active 10" Subwoofer to go with my Onkyo TX-SR606 to provide a bit more bass. But I've connected the subwoofer input to the amplifers subwoofer preout using on the white connector of an RCA audio cable that came with the sub, told the amp that a subwoofer was connected and changed the front speaker setting to "small" which as I understand it would send the low pass frequencies to the sub. But yesterday I would only get sound if the amp was on standby and today I am only getting the smallest amount of sound coming from the sub when the volume is on "MAX". However if I connect the sub directly to an audio splitter cable connected into my pc audio port it works.

Here is a link to the ebay listing for the sub and pictures of the connections at the back of the subwoofwer http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281383210666?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Would using a 2:1 rca splitter solve the problem?

What am I doing wrong, any help greatly appreciated.

From your description, you say it used to work and now doesn't. Yet the sub works when connected to another device.

Sounds to me like the receiver has problems. IF, after rechecking all your setups and connections it still doesn't work, it may need servicing.

I only received the subwoofer yesterday so my first attempt at connection was when I would only get sound when the amp was in standby so its never really worked

So, does the sub work or not?

I'm assuming you have the LFE out from the receiver connected to the sub's input. If so, I doubt a splitter will have much affect.

If I connect it directly to my xonar d2x soundcard using an audio splitter cable then yes but if I directly connect the sub to the amps subwoofer preout then no

Again, it sounds like the receiver has problems.

If you didn't rerun auto calibration the receiver will not work correctly.

Put volume knob on sub at 11 o clock, Crossover knob at max. Can't make it the switch text. Is ones phase, set at 0. Is the other is auto on, set at auto.

Now rerun auto calibration.

After completing, setting speakers to small is good. In receiver set crossover to 80.

Best of luck.

Hi, as I bought the amplifer second hand it didnt come with the calibration mic so cant run the calibration setup. But I have come up with a solution, I avoided connecting to the sub to the amp at all and directly connected it to my Xonar D2X Sub/Center audio out and configured it to run in 5.1 and the sub came to life.

Thanks for the very helpful advice
