I was re calibrating auto accu EQ and my rear height left speaker is giving test tone but failed after and error coming that speaker error, few days ago same speaker was working fine , I tried manual test tone and it’s working fine , play movie then working too but fail during auto room calibration, I tried to switch speaker then that speaker working fine so that height rear location causing issue, i tried all option I can but no clue at all, any guidance will be helpful.

Only chance point is I added new klipsch RP-502 as rear back surround.

I'd first do a soft reset...unplug the avr for a while. Then if that doesn't do it I'd try a full factory/microprocessor reset. I'd also first (and mentioned late because I'd do this without posting) double check all my speaker connections to make sure you don't have any frayed cable/poor connections causing issues.

Tried all still speaker detect error, while playing movie it’s working fine , test tone working fine, auto calibration it fail to that particular speaker.

Sounds like time to return it if possible still.

I wish it’s been 4 years now so too late , but wired that auto setup not reading that location only.

Ah then in that case you're probably out of warranty as well. Seems something you can live without, AccuEQ wasn't ever all that great to begin with.

Agree, currently in have setup all at 80hz even my tower speakers so both my sub can have better performance , only confused in each speaker Db, using spl app and. Set all up at 75 db level, I hope it’s good setup ?

On my Yamaha it always says the front left is out of phase it’s done this since I had it repaired a year ago . I’ve swapped the speaker leads on the amp and on the speakers to try and find what is causing this to no avail. In the manual it say if you get this to ignore it as it’s probably a room problem or a weird reflection being read by auto setup . I’ve come to terms with it’s probably ok and move on . It’s funny it never did this till the main board was replaced with an so called upgraded main board . I’d ignore it and set up manually if I was you .

Unless it's the phase thing you can ignore like Mark brought up (altho I got the impression your situation was something a bit different) I'd just set all the levels manually and 75dB is the usual setup level.

Iam under the impression that any of these auto setups version’s can get weird . As the op does have a different problem I not at all familiar with the onkyo system these things can get pretty goofy.I’d do a system reset like you suggested first in my case after trying to figure this out I called the Yamaha tech was told if it was really out of phase it would show up In graphs the auto set up did . The graphs for the front left and right were almost the same in the frequencies that it would have showed up in so I left it alone just some sort of glitch in the software I guess .

Several of the roomeq programs exhibit the phase error problem. Room acoustics/particular speakers seem to trigger it. OTOH I don't know what Onkyo is like after they dropped Audyssey, but if the AccuEQ error doesn't allow for an ignore, then the best way is not to use it.

Indeed I use mine with the 8 point and angle measurements then throw out the levels for subs as it never gets them to my preference distance or level I do like my subs a little hot as there old and seem to intergrate better with a longer distance setting. And always tweak the levels on every speaker . I’ve run the set up 4 times in a row and every once in awhile it will not recognize a sub . Kind of weird but run it again and it’s there lol . I’ve found that useing a meter and a tape measure still do a better job in my room .

This is using YPAO?

Yes when this unit was rebuilt they told me in a conversation with the repair technician that fixed it they put in an upgraded main board and a new hdmi board as it is getting some age on it and I suppose that some upgrades may not have meshed with the remaining un damaged boards just an uneducated guess on his and my part . But they said it would be better and for the most part is except for the weird ypao setups some times . Iam happy with it now despite its weird ypao quirks.
