I tried bi amping for the first time this year and despite using klipsch icon duel 6.5” woofer towers a effecient speaker it overheats.
Even if I set them to 80hz tho I tried full range 40hz also .
Its weird it runs 7ch no issues but I removed my behind surrounds . The shelf they were on isn’t there anymore ...

Another reason this config is likely best avoided.

You likely Bi-wired, not Bi-amped!

Did you remove the jumpers on the back of your speakers???

It was property bi amped the Onkyo can do that the speakers have two extra inputs for bi amping .. 7.2 ch amp
should had left it hooked up and tried it out longer . Sucks having 2 channels unused

I decided to just run front heights for now instead of bi amping .
