I have an onkyo 805 right now - I am getting a new haloa51 (By the way I just glanced at a post questioning am I out of control? I've decided yes I am lol.) I've gone from outlaws monoblocks to the parasound 5020 and have cancelled both orders and currently have the halo coming to me. I have def tech speaks clr 3000 reference supercube(which i just ordered... 1800 watts s 14'' subs... sick!!!!) 2 bpvx/p side surrounds and two bp7004 fronts (will be upgrading fronts to bp7000sc's soon). I demoed the halo amp with these speakers - sounded beast... would make a difference or be worth it to upgrade the pre-processor from using the onkyo 805 to the integra 9.8? I'm thinkin the 805 is just as good at this point besides possible the better video processor on the 9.8. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I would say maybe there might be a slight edge to the Integra, but not enough to warrant twice the price. It has the ability to receive firmware updates, which I am not certain the Onkyo TX-SR805 does. The Integra also has more features such as network capability and as you mentioned the scalers (scalers in AVRs and prepros is pointless in many ways IMO).
