ONKYO 805 2.1 stereo with sUB????????

Hello
I have a new Onkyo 805 rec with a Martin Logan Grotto sub. Is there a setting I can use to make my 2 channel music play with my sub as well. It is hard to get good deep sound out of the 2 floors by them selves. Please help.

Set double bass to "on", it's a menu option on the Onkyo that allows for the bass information from the 2 channel source be derived for the subwoofer.

Unless you are using the "Pure Audio" or "Direct" Modes, or if your speakers are set to "large", your crossover settings should be sending bass to your subwoofer even for 2-channel sources. To reconfirm this for myself the other day, I ran some tests with a CD that had a lot of bass. The subwoofer was active for all cases except when I switched to Pure Audio then it went to sleep. FYI - - I do not use the “double bass” option.

I have the 805 and in "stereo" music mode,it is 2.1 stereo basically with the sub working.

If you have your front speakers set to full range then the sub will not be active.
