I am a noob to home audio, upgrading from a true mini HTIB to my first experience with an actual receiver.
I have the entire system wired up with upgraded 16 guage wire and 99% of the time it sounds very good to my untrained ear.
My only real problem is when my wife watches a specific channel from my cable's "On demand" selection the speakers pop and the reciever shuts down. During any other application the reciever works fine.
Now as much as I would like to oversee this minor glitch it worries me about trouble down the road. I have read many people having problems with various Onkyo recievers. Does anyone have a workaround for this or would I be better off taking it back and attempting to build my own system, maybe with a Yamaha reciever.
Here are my inputs:
Motorola HD DVR, V-HDMI passthrough A-Digital audio
DVD/VCR V-S-cable A-Digital audio
Xbox 360 V-componant A-Optical
Thanks in advance for any input,
