I just went thru the process of letting the audessey calibrate my speakers. All sounds great except for the sub (klispch 10inch). So I went into the settings and changed the setting of the sub to +6 ( the highest possible is +12). The sub has a volume on it that I can adjust. Am I on the right track here????

Auto calibration systems usually set the speakers to large and set the crossover wrong. Go back in and manually change the speakers to small and set the crossover around 80HZ. The crossover on your sub should be disabled or turned as hight as it will go. Give this a try and see if you get the bass you want and if not bump it up a little via the gain on the sub or the slider on the AVR.

The auto cal gets you pretty close with these few tweaks but ideally you would use a SPL meter and a calibration disc.

Yes, adjust things to your preference. The auto calibration is a tool, not a provider of audio dogma. If you want more bass, then dial it in. If you want less, dial it down. Take care.
