These new models from Onkyo look rather nice. The 608 has taken a nice step up in power. 90 to 100 and THX certification. Not that it means much. However the new 608 seems to have higher power consumption than the 707.

Still no Audyssey MultEQ or pre-outs on the 608. It also has the new DSX wide and new GUI with overlay.

Overall it seems like a nice upgrade. Price has gone up to 599 but the street price should be lower.

All new models deocde the HD audio formats as well. The 508 is back to being a 7.1 model as well.

I've never seen a 15 pin d-sub on a receiver before, that's an interesting addition.

Looks like Onkyo is trying to give themselves a name again! How many times can they do it?

I wonder if that is for their docks.

Would be perfect if they included MultEQ instead of 2EQ and the ABT video chip.
