Hello,

I tried a new Yamaha AVR when I moved into my new house and was unimpressed with zone 2 audio quality and functionality. Zone 2 ( kitchen / great room) is where I listen to most of my music. Zone 1 is home theater. It is common for both zones to utlized at once. I returned the Yamaha and have been running twin NAD 761's which are both located in the same rack. Here is what I have:

Home Theater

Digital Cable
Apple TV
IMAC
Axiom Front , Center Channel and Sub.
I don't have a need for HDMI switching unless is simplifies some things , no plans for surround , no blu ray, not a movie nut.

Great Room

Orb Audio Satellites and Sub which pleases the wife and sounds really good.

Things I like..

Simple , I like the amps left on. Usually stream music from IPad's , Iphones to Zone 2 NAD Amp ( the dead one) through apple tv. Sometimes use remote to imac to play music in this zone via apple tv ap , sometimes stream audio directly to the amp from the imac via optical. The home theater side of this is basic and I want to keep it that way.

Any suggestions , it does seam crazy to use two big amps for this but has worked out ok.

Thanks in advance

If it ain't broken, don't fix it. Just get another 761 to replace the dead one, carry on as usual. EBay has plenty under $200.
