:confused: Could someone please help me with the following situation;
I have two Sonab speakers (300W, 94dB, 4 ohm) that I wish to drive as front speakers of the HT that I want to set up. The surround and center speakers are not nearly as powerfull (75W or so, 8 ohm).

Should I now go for a more powerfull surround amp (like the Denon 3805) or should I instead save some cash on the receiver and invest in two power amps? As cheapers alternatives I was thinking of the Denon 2105. Any suggestions? My budget is about 1000 euro's for the lot.

The system will primarily be used for music (classical, SACD) and some HT.

Thanks for your thoughts...

Thanks Buckeyefan 1,

I checked out the Yamaha but here in Europe the thing costs around 1 000 euro which is almost my compete budget for this endeavour.

At the IFA in Berlin yesterday I saw the Denon AVS-1906 which should have enough power for the center and surround channels (110 W) and if I read the specs right, should have the L/R output for seperate power amp. Any good?

Also I am looking at second-hand power amps. Any thoughts on the Denon POA2200, the Kenwood L-1000M or the Quad 606???

Any and all comments appreciated...
