I have been considering on-wall speakers for my family room/theater area. My budget is definitely right in the $1,000.00ish area for my L/C/R setup and I was wondering if anyone had actually heard any and what your thoughts are.

I would like something in white or silver, as my wall is not black.

I have been stronly considering the Definitive Technology Mythos 2 & 3 speakers which seem to be engineered to a much higher standard than others I have read about. Especially at that price.

$1,000ish. TOPS of $1,500.00 for the set. I don't care about on-walls that run a grand per speaker.

Not looking at in-walls either.

How would the speakers recommened above compare to speakers like the Axiom M22ti or any other bookshelf speakers?

The RXV 54 is not an on wall speaker only the RXV 42
These new Reference speakers have huge dynamic capabilities for there size
They sound slightly laid back compared to the other box models in the Reference line.

Think of the RXV-42 as a speaker between the RB-15 and RB-25 more toward the 25 Think of the RXV-54 as a speaker between the RF-15 and RF-25 more toward the 25 these speakers are constructed very well and are stylish. 5 RXV-42's and a good subwoofer will rock the house for HT and music

Both the RVX-42 and RXV-54 tonally match the Klipsch Reference In-wall’s and in-ceiling speakers RXV-42 across the front and In-Ceilings or In-Walls in the rear perform very well or RXV-54, RXV-42 center and RXV-42 surrounds or in-wall or in ceiling would be a great sounding system with high dynamic capabilities
