?? On the speaker level inputs on my Velodyne powered sub.

I have a VRP-1000 that has both speaker and line level inputs, but the RCA line level inputs don't work.
I plan to pull the amp and check the line in side and RCA connectors as best I can, as well as contact the manufacturer about the issue and my options on servicing it.

At the moment though, I dislike that I'm forced to run longer lengths of speaker wire to the sub and then back to my speakers as well as wonder what internal Xover manipulation may be active. So short term I'd like to know what other options I have, so my questions are.

If no good solution for repair presents itself and I can't find the fault on my own, can I safely run a pair of speaker lines into the sub unit from either an internal or outboard source and have those speaker leads just deadhead in the input side of the sub, or does it need too see a load on the output side for some reason?

If I can just deadhead the speaker wire into the units high pass filter input, what's a good option for a small amp that I can run from my receivers RCA subwoofer output to the VRP-1000 just to pass along the signal with enough juice to fire the sub up?

Thanks.

After pulling the amp plate off the back of the sub and taking a look at the guts, I'm no longer interested in putting any time or money into this sub.

So after a quick solder repair on a circuit board in my M501 amp, I instead put my old Onkyo separates in place to run the bed room setup in 2.0 and will move this Yamaha 7.2 receiver and VRP-10 out to my second story living room for HT use where it won't bother me to run the high pass lines to small HT speakers.

Thanks for looking.
