Getting close to purchasing a new AVR and I am going with a Yami. I've narrowed it down to the RX-A3010 and the RX-A2010. The only differences I can find are the watts per channel (3010 has 10 watts more chan) and the dimensional and weight (3010 is slightly longer and 4 lbs heavier) and also the 3010 has 4 zones vs the 2010 only has 3. I can find any more differences and the dif in price is $400. Thanks for any input.

The best advice I can give you is that that in the real world 10 watts per channel won't make an audible difference. For that, you will need to either double (or halve) the power and, even then, it would only be on the occasional peaks.

As for the other features, you'll have to decide what you want and/or need and do your own cost/benefit analysis on those.

Hi. I used the "compare" feature on the Yamaha site. Sometimes copying the compare links doesn't work, but here it is in case it does.

The listed differences that I noticed are:
  • 3010 has more power (but I agree, likely not enough to be noticeable)
  • 3010 has Angle measurement on YPAO
  • 3010 video adjustment has variable parameters
  • 3010 has 11.2 preouts versus 7.2 on the 2010
  • 3010 remote has LED back light
  • 3010 has 4 zones versus 3 on the 2010
  • 3010 is 2.4 lbs heavier (listed dimensions are identical)

Major selling point right there. I was using online retail sites, and they didn't even mention that feature. It's actually perfect for me since I have a UPA-7 and was thinking about adding a XPA-2 in the future.
